Happy Birthday Emma!

Well today was an interesting day to say the least. I went into work this morning just like I always do, but was still having headaches and my vision started to have spots so I called the doctor. Of course they wanted me to come in to see what was going on so in I went. After being there for about an hour, they decided to send me to St. V's, since Dr. Sue was on call that day. I called Nick and let him know what was going on. We weren't sure if I was having Emma that day or if I'd be staying at the hospital for awhile. When I walked in Dr. Sue took one look at me and said I looked awful. I was put in triage and they ran all kinds of tests. Of course everything was coming back fine, however the physical exam was an issue and showed that I had severe preeclampsia which meant that Emma needed to come ASAP. I called Nick and told him what was going on, he wanted to go home and shower, but I said sorry, no time, she is coming now and you need to get here. This was about 130 when I called him. At 215 they were wheeling me into the O.R. getting ready for Emma's arrival. It was nervewracking, especially with how quickly everything was going on, but we knew it was for the best.

Emma Therese came into the world screaming at 246 on March 16. She was so tiny and had lots of dark hair. She was having a hard time breathing so she was taken down to the NICU and observed for awhile. That was one of the hardest things that I've ever had to deal with. Not being able to see her and be with her was extremely difficult, and letting other people go down and see her, was just not fair. Luckily Nick was awesome and I told him no one was allowed to hold her until I got too. Nick texted me at one point and told me that she was doing good, and if she kept behaving she would come up to our room later that night.

We stayed up waiting for her and finally at 3am I got to meet and snuggle with Miss Emma and it was perfect and so wonderful. I couldn't believe how tiny she is and she just is so small. So far she is doing great and behaving wonderfully, one can only hope that it will continue!

37 Weeks

Full Term!!! I'm 37 weeks pregnant today and it's hard to believe really, it's gone by so quickly.
I'm scheduled to go in for my repeat csection on 3/30, but not sure if I will make it that far or not, we shall see!

Some Winter Pictures

This winter was so much fun...Jeff enjoyed when the snow came down and we could spend time outside sledding & he could help Uncle John in his loader. What a lucky little boy he is to be able to do that kind of stuff.

Jeff giving Daddy a hard time when going up the hill!

His face looks like pure excitement & joy.

Helping Uncle John...his favorite thing to do!

So Much Snow!!!

Our forecast today was for 1-3 inches of snow...imagine our surprise when it started snowing and didn't stop until 7 tonight! We have to have at least 8 inches on the ground, it's amazing and we had such an awesome day enjoying it. Nick had an early basketball game so we hurried home to have lunch, then headed back out to watch Zach play, then we went sledding!!! The snow was coming down like crazy but it felt great to be out in the snow enjoying it and Jeff had such a good time. We hadn't done that with him all year so I'm glad we took the time today...even my big hiney was on the sled with him going down the hill, we haven't laughed like that in a long time.

After sledding we called Uncle John & Jeff got to go and ride in the front loader and help plow a parking lot, oh my goodness he was so excited. He had this plastered grin on his face the entire time he was in the loader. It's so neat he gets to do this kind of stuff, especially since he loves it so much!

I really enjoyed today, I felt like it was one of the better family days that we've had for a quite awhile!

Big Brother

I have a feeling Jeff is going to be a great big brother! He is already showing so much love towards Miss Emma it's incredible. He is kissing my belly anytime I leave or come home, "high fiving" my belly when he does something great, asking questions about what the baby is doing; how her night sleep was; if she had a good day or not, it's amazing! I hope this trend continues after she comes and he is just as excited about her, but for now it's fun to have all of these neat memories!

31 Weeks

Wow how time is flying by so quickly. Really when I stop and think about it Miss Emma is going to be here before I know it. My Dad took this picture of me this morning because my aunts were asking for yet another belly picture. Really I feel bigger than I look, so that's good.
