Election Day!

Well today is the most important election and one that history will be made! A black man is going to take office, or there will be a woman vice-president. Either way it's amazing how far we've come as a nation.

Nick & I voted absentee! It's so nice not to have to go and wait in line and to be done, but I did miss the fun of going to vote. When we were driving by the voting precincts they were packed, which is always great to see!

I hope you do your part and get out and vote today!

Working Is Not As Much Fun As Being Home!

I was spoiled last week from being off for 3 days. I love being home with Jeff and spending time with him, it's time that I won't get back, so of course it's special. I was looking forward to the 3 days! I planned lots of stuff, to much really, and we enjoyed every minute.

Wednesday I had to come to work for a little bit, but left at 10 for Music Together, then we went and got Jeff's haircut. Jeff came home took a nap, and then we headed up to the hospital to spend a little time with Mom & Steph since Dad was still in surgery. He did just fine with the hip replacement...Dr. Fenton said they had to put a 66 head on the joint to get it to fit, and it's the biggest he's ever used. I can't even imagine!

All the kids from Music Together!

Thursday we slept in a little bit...well mom did, I woke up when Jeff did, and we took our time getting ready. We had story time at 10, which was nice to finally be able to take him to that, then we had lunch with Jeanne, which was awesome because I haven't see her in lord only knows how long. She looks awesome and was so good about helping with Jeff. She was shocked about how much stuff I can put in a diaper bag. She asked me what else I was going to pull out of there! We also had Gerri Leonard take Jeff's Halloween picture all dressed in his costume. He didn't really want to sit, but the first one came out the best!

That evening we went up to the hospital to see dad and see how he was getting along. Jeff of course remembered how to play with the handle above dad, and he made friends with the guy next door who was giving him french fries!

Friday was a day full of fun to say the least. Nick's mom came up for a visit and to also come with me to take Jeff Trick-Or-Treating in downtown Perrysburg. It's great, businesses have kids come through to get candy and it's the first year I've actually been able to go. Anyway, it was a lot of fun walking around, and Jeff thoroughly enjoyed getting candy. After that we were suppose to go up and see Dad at the hospital but I was utterly lost in downtown Toledo and we didn't make it. We did end up managing to find out way to Steph's classroom through and we had a great time. I wasn't sure what to expect because mom told me he's only good for about 20 minutes, but he was good for over an hour!

Jeff relaxing on Steph's Gorilla!

We were suppose to go to a Halloween party Friday night, but Nick was working late and when he wasn't home at 5:30 I called to tell them we wouldn't be coming. I was disappointed because I wanted to see everyone, but to run out for a little bit, just didn't make sense. Instead I got Jeff all dressed in his costume and we went Trick-Or-Treating for about a 1/2 hour. Jeff was tired from earlier in the day so it worked out okay.

All ready for Trick-Or-Treating...my cute little scarecrow!

Saturday was a pretty quiet day...we didn't do to much of anything, and it felt great! We did run up to the mall so I could get something to wear for pictures, but that was honestly about it. Felt great to be home and relax. Nick & I went out to dinner though...just the two of us. Mom offered to keep Jeff since they were going to be home anyway. It was nice to go out and enjoy some time together. We ate at the Blue Water Grille and it was amazing. I could go back there in a heartbeat!

I LOVE this picture of Jeff and his blanket...it's his best friend, we need to call him Linus!

Grandpa & Jeff reading books together!

"Hey Mom, why are you bothering me?"

John & Jeff on the tractor, Jeff was so happy to get a ride!

Sunday we did family pictures at 9 (I'll make a post all about that in a bit), but it was so much fun!!!! I wish Jeff was older and understood that he needed to smile, but it was still a good time. The rest of the day was nothing great, we played outside, Nick went to an auction and sold his boat, then went to a football game, and I took Jeff to the park, it was perfect!

I love this picture, he was checking out what other kids were doing.

Gaining an Hour = Great for Mom, BUT NOT Jeff!

I was so excited to gain the extra hour yesterday. It's one of my favorite times of the year because the day just drags on and on, but in a good way. I knew it would a challenge since Jeff is older now, but I was so exciting when he slept until 6:30...I was afraid he was going to wake up at 5 or some ungodly hour!

Last night I contemplated what time I should put him to bed. On the old time, he went to bed around 8, to much later and he woke up to early for his own good! I was talking with my mom about this and she said to put him to bed at 8 and of course I listened. Well this morning when he woke up at 5AM I was a little ticked to say the least. I knew this would happen but yet I didn't listen to my gut. Tonight he's going to bed around 7:30 with the hope, that he will sleep until at least 6:30 tomorrow morning. I think I'm going to switch him over a little at a time. Hopefully by next week he'll be switched over completely!

Jeff's Tractor Ride With Uncle John

God Love John! He had a tractor on the back of his truck, took the tractor off, and gave Jeff a nice long ride! Jeff of course enjoyed every minute of it. I'm so glad John enjoys doing things with Jeff, because otherwise, I don't know what would happen.

Happy Halloween!!!

Jeff was adorable during Trick-Or-Treat...he would run up to the house, and then run back all excited telling me or Nick about what he got...meaning candy. So glad I had the camera to capture it!

Being Goofy!

I was taking Jeff's picture and he said "cheese" I tried to get him to do it again, but it was a lost cause. He did however enjoy screaming at the camera!

Full Weekend Fun!

Oh my goodness, for being a "relaxing" weekend it was jammed packed! Friday night I wanted to take Jeff trick-or-treating at Levis, but decided not to since it was rainy and gross, and he was still under the weather. Instead we got some take out and went home to enjoy the eveing...it felt great!

Saturday we were up early and out of the house to get errands done. Nick called me while he was on his errand to tell me he was going down to see his brother, so that just left Jeff & myself to get things done! We had to run all over: Kohl's, Target, Michael's, Wal-Mart, Library...but it all got done in the nick of time! I even was able to finish up Lauren's shower gift which felt great. Anyway, we came home and started baking the pumpkin cookies for the Halloween party. Jeff loves to sit on the bar stool and help pour the ingridents and watch the mixer spin! After we ate some batter and baked the cookies, Jeff took a nap and I got to work on my stuffed mushrooms... I just LOVE making those things! I think I got a nap in, but I don't even remember. Nick got home sometime, then we got things together for the party!

Everyone arrived around 6 and we had a blast! Of course Jeff soaked up all the attention from everyone, but it felt good to see everybody. It makes me feel old though because all of the kids are getting so big. Some of them my mom started watching when I was in kindergarden...see, old feeling! We had so much fun, laughing and telling stories. Jeff went to bed at his normal time and just screamed...no one wanted to hear him, so I got him up and you should of seen the grin he gave everyone when he got to get up! It was like "Haha Mom...I won!" I went to bed around 10 so I could get up for the race the next day, but everyone else stayed until after 11!

Sunday morning Steph Hoover & I ran in the Red Ribbon Run at Levis Commons. I was so excited because it was the first race I had done in years. We figured we wouldn't come in with a great time, but it was the point we were doing it. Kelly, Steph, John, Mom, Nick, & Jeff all came out to cheer us on! They were stationed at different points along the race, which was great so we could have some support as we went along. It was freezing! Anyone, we both did better then expected!!! I ran the 5K in 27:43 and Steph ran it in 28:11...considering we thought it would take us about 40 minutes we were extremely happy with our times!!! Go Us!!!

The rest of the day the guys were at John & Steph's sighting in the new gun. I took Jeff out for a little bit, but of course it was close to nap time so we headed home. I got to take a 2 hour nap and it felt great! The guys got home later on in the afternoon, we cooked chicken on the grill and just sat around. Felt good to be together!
