Patio Finished & Other Stuff Too!!!

Well the weather was great again this weekend and I'm happy to say that we spent Saturday and Sunday working in the yard to get it looking just how we wanted...and it looks AWESOME, I'm so happy with the way it turned out.

Nick spent Saturday morning edging and tearing up the lawn, while I cleaned the house. In the early afternoon we headed out to John's to get some mulch and the fun began. It took about 2 truck loads, but seriously it just looked so nice. By Saturday night we were done mulching the entire house and even had enough energy left to have a bonfire...it was great!

Sunday morning we got up and went to church, then went to breakfast. When we got home we noticed that there was a flower sale across the street so we made our way to see what they had. We got a couple of flats, then came home to plant...the house looks so nice all done, really is starting to become our own, which is what it needed. It's so nice having another place where we can go and sit.
This is the walkway from the front of the house to the back.

The backyard...we put mulch along the patio, and the back of the house.

Jeff was such a good boy all weekend, helping us and hanging out.

Jeff likes to climb the fence to see Callie!!!

Playing basketball...I think it's his favorite thing to do.

Almost there...

First Weekend Back

Well Nick had a prebachelor party-party over the weekend so Jeff & I made a quick trip up to the lake. It felt great to be up there and relax!

We headed up Saturday morning. It was a last minute decision so I hurried to get everything together, but we were ready by the time Mom got to the house. Jeff was so excited to be at the lake. He ran to the sandbox and then "told" me to get him toys out of the shed. He played in the sandbox for hours and I enjoyed the sunshine while laying on the pier...no complaints here. Steph & John arrived a few hours later and then we proceeded to head over to the land so Jeff could help John bushwhack the property. Jeff enjoyed every moment and didn't say a peep on the tractor. Steph & I had fun gabbing and picking up branches... I forgot my camera of course so no pictures of our adventures, but I'll make sure to get some the next time. Steph & I had enough and we headed back to the cottage, Jeff was so worn out he fell asleep on the couch. He's never done that before! I knew he was tired when he actually slept though John mowing the front yard and dogs barking at who knows what. We tried to do dinner Saturday night but the wait was to long so Jeff & I took off with Mom and got some subs and pizza...it was yummy. The most exciting news of the weekend was that Jeff slept in the bunkbed the ENTIRE NIGHT!!! This is huge because for the past year or so whenever we went to the lake he would sleep in bed with me and Nick would sleep in the bunkbed, so fingers crossed that this keeps working.

Sunday we were up early for church, home for breakfast, then more work on the property and in the lake yard. It felt good to come home, but goodness there is lots of work to do to get yourself ready for the work week!

Little Man, so happy to be back at the lake!

He was so sweet sleeping on the couch.

Patio Poured!!!

I'm happy to say that our patio has been poured and it looks great, despite the weather condtions we had that day!!! When we started there were sunny skys and everything was going great, however by 5:30 we were running to Anderson's to grab tarps so we would have them to cover up the wet sement before the rain came. It all worked out well in the end, and we have an awesome patio to enjoy now!!!

We had to wheelbarrel the cemet to the back yard...it wasn't that bad, and even I helped!

Jeff & MaMa watching all of the action.

It's looking good. Thanks to everyone who helped that afternoon!

Doesn't look to bad does it?

Dad & John spreading the cement around.

This was our eating area...nothing like "white trash" but it worked!!

Jeff was helping Papa edge the cement.

Jeff watching so closely...

And then the rain came...you should of seen how may helicopters fell on the cement before we got the tarps on.

Daddy putting Jeff handprint in...it rained so much there though, that the handprint got washed away.

The Patio Continues...

Saturday morning Steph & John came over for a fun day of preparing the patio. We had haul the bottom layer of sand/rocks, the boys framed in the patio, then we all hauled some more, smoothed out and got it even! There was more involved I'm sure, but those were the big things that we had to do. It took forever and was a day long project, but it's great to have it done. Now we wait for the concrete...Monday at 4 is when it's suppose to happen, but we'll see!

Jeff was awesome and helped us all day Saturday! I love that he likes to help us. He measured with the boys, and hauled with Steph & I...couldn't ask for a better little boy.

Helping John get things measured out.

It took lots of wheelbarrel loads to get this filled in.

The boys hard at work!

Look at our little helper!!!

Aunt Steph & Jeff...they look so cute together.

Our First "Camp" Fire

Last night we decided to take advantage of the nice weather & being home on a Friday night and had a campfire at our house!!! If you notice the pit, this is where the patio is going to go, but Friday night it held our fire. We had a great time, the weather was perfect and it was a great night to stay up late chatting! Our neighbors even came over with their dog, Callie, to hang out with us. We were up way to late and drank way to much, but we had a great time for sure. Can't wait for the concrete to be poured so we can do it again!!!

Jeff & Daddy proud of their fire!
