VACATION!

Vacation was awesome this year, Jeff was just at such a fun age to do things with and the best part he understood what vacation was. We did a last minute trip and headed up to Silver Lake & St. Joseph, Michigan. They were 2 excellent decisions and we had a great time at both of them. Of course the weather was a little iffy, but for the most part it wasn't all that horrible, expect when it was pouring down rain!!!

We headed out on our adventure Wednesday evening and drove up to Silver Lake, we got there late but it was okay. Once we checked into our hotel, we drove around looking at the town. It was fun to see all the people that were on vacation having camp fires at their places...reminded me of being at the lake. The next morning we went to catch our ride for the Sand Dunes!!! It was such an awesome experience. Driving over the sand dunes and looking at the beautiful views, it's amazing. Jeff LOVED every second of the ride too, which was awesome since Nick & I weren't sure how he was going to do with it. After our ride it started sprinkling so we hurried to get the goal cart rides in before it got to bad. The rain continued to get worse raining so we had lunch at a pizza place, and it kept getting worse so we decided to call it quits and head to the next destination.
Isn't that view amazing? This was from ontop of the Sand Dunes.

When we stopped to get out of the buggy, Jeff started running all over the beach, he LOVED it!

Mom & Jeff being silly...this is what we road in on the sand dunes.

Daddy & Jeff enjoy the goal carts...do you see the look on Jeff's face?

I love this picture! This was by Lake Michigan by the Lighthouse we walked too.

I wrote Jeff's name in the sand, but he was not liking his picture being taken.

When we arrived in St. Joseph's, Michigan, we instantly fell in love with it! It was right on the water and there was so much to do, it was perfect. We changed into our suits right away and headed down towards the water. Turns out there is a spray park there and Jeff really enjoyed playing in it, once he warmed to the idea a bit. After that we let him play on the swingset right down by the beach and then we rode our bikes over a large bridge and headed to look at the Light House...my gosh is was so awesome doing that.

Jeff enjoying the water...

This is such a great picture of the both of them.

Friday morning it was gross out again, but we made the most of it and headed down to the beach. It was so much fun watching Jeff's face and he got in the water and played in the waves.

Of course Jeff rode the Michigan horse on the Merry-Go-Round!!

After we were done with our Michigan adventures we headed for the lake...always relaxing!!! Jeff is really loving the water and it really makes it that much more enjoyable.

Another Family Fun Filled Weekend

We were back at the lake this weekend for some more family fun!!! Amazing how Jeff loves hanging out with the older kids. Luckily they are pretty good at not getting to annoyed with him. Jeff really got brave this weekend though...he wanted to be like the big kids and jump off the raft down the way from the cottage...he did awesome!

Jeff & Mack snuggling together on the chair!

Jeff & Markus snuggling on the couch!

All 3 Dogs - Alvin, Olin, & Oliver...begging for food!

Swimming in the hole with the big kids...he got to try so much this weekend.

We took time to drive to Angola since there was an airshow going on, we tried to get an airplane ride but they were booked. The best we could do was a picture next to the plane.

Jeff & Mitchell going threw all of the pictures at the lake.

Jeff & Uncle John tubbing...Jeff did not enjoy this at all.

The weekend was awesome. It was so nice to be at the lake again and spend time with family...now we have to wait for another year!

Happy 4th Weekend!!

And oh what a great weekend it was!!! We hadn't been to the lake since Memorial Day so you can imagine the excitement in our house as we were preparing for the lake this weekend...from all of us, but for all different reasons. Plus with it being the 4th that meant an extra day off of work and Freiburger crew coming up for the weekend...that is always lots of fun!

Friday night we headed out early since I got off work early that day and had a great evening at the lake. The yard got mowed, a yummy dinner made, and boat rides and fires, you couldn't ask for anything more.

Jeff being goofy before heading out for a boat ride.

Mama, Jeff & Nick waiting for Papa to bring over the boat.

What a great way to start off the weekend!

Saturday the cottage got busy with family arriving. It was great seeing everyone though, and Jeff enjoyed playing with the older cousins. Thankfully they didn't seem to mind playing with him as much as they did. Today was so much fun as the guys were roasting a pig and everyone got involved. We spent lots of time in the water and eating good food, what could be better?

Jeff & Simon out kayacking...

What we like to do at the lake, sit on the pier talking & eating treats.

Jeff found Papa's headphones in the garage...he wanted to be like Uncle John.

I just LOVE this picture...

More kayacking with cousins...

Getting the hog ready to go on...the crowd around this was amazing

Daddy & Jeff needed some quiet time so they took a boat ride.

Cousin Time!

Sunday was so much fun as the guys were roasting a pig and everyone got involved. We spent lots of time in the water and eating good food, what could be better?

Monday it got really warm so we were in the water even more. We were sad to come home, but glad to know we get to go up again next weekend!
