Back From Our Mini Vacation!

I'm sad to be back at work this morning! It was wonderful having Monday & Tuesday off of work and to be able to spend some quality time by ourselves at the lake. It was so peaceful and relaxing. We really didn't do to much of anything, just hung out by the sandbox with Jeff, but it was the point that we didn't have to be on a schedule that made all of the difference!

The weekend was great! Nick's friends, Justin and Pat, and Bethany, Pat's girlfriend were up for the weekend. It was so nice for Nick to get to see everyone and have fun together. I didn't really get to spend to much time with them, I was always cooking or cleaning up the cottage, but it was still great to see them. They were wonderful with Jeff too. We have some new habits we need to break now, but it's nice to see 26 year olds excited to see a 19 month old.

Saturday I had to take Jeff to the LaGrange ER. He was walking on the dock and then all of a sudden he wasn't putting any weight on his foot and was screaming. Nick & I sat and looked at it and his ankle looked swollen and puffy, so we decided we should go have it looked at, just in case. I got there and wouldn't you know the problem was a stupid splitner in his foot. I was so upset that I had to bring my child in for a splinter. The worst part was Nick & I even looked at his foot for that, but of course we didn't see it. Live & Learn...right???

Sunday we spent a good couple of hours tubing! Oh my lord it was hilarious and so much fun, I haven't laughed like that in a long time. Nick & Pat went together, Pat & Bethany...the air and waves that they got were great! You had to be there, but it was just a riot. Jeff even enjoyed the boat ride as well.

The Waterfight began!

Pat & Nick...the ride is only beginning...

Nick tried to jump on the tube, only to fall off!!!

Monday, Jeff decided to wake up at 5am!!!! Hello kiddo, it's vacation, you sleep in. I got him up and brought him in bed with us and he ended up sleeping until around 7 or so. Jeff & I went running around the lake, I just love running up there, it's so peaceful, but for a Monday there were a few people out and about. Truthfully though, Monday was spend vegging. Jeff played with Brooke, I saw in the sun, and while Jeff took his nap, we just watched tv. It was nice not to have to rush here or there. We had an awesome dinner on the grill and then we went to Lucy's and got some ice-cream, it was just a great day.

Jeff & Brooke...the smiles on their faces say it all!

He was so proud!

Tuesday we knew we had to come home by a decent time, so I got up ran again and then we started cleaning. Jeff was so tired he went down for a morning nap, and Nick and I got to work. Luckily I had done some cleaning on Sunday so I didn't have a ton to do, but it took all morning. By 12 we were in the car heading home. Mom took me down to see Steph's classroom which was fun since I hadn't seen it yet. She looks so grown up in there, I'm so happy that she got a job and is doing what she loves, you can tell she really enjoys it! Other then that, Nick went off to work for the evening and Jeff and I headed to the library for books...our lives are just so exciting, aren't they?

One minute he looks like this!

Honestly 2 seconds later, he looks like this!

Back to School

I decided in May that I needed to go back to school to finish my degree. I needed to prove to myself that I could do this, but most of all I wanted to do this. Well the time has come for school to actually start, and while I'm looking forward to it, I think it's going to be a huge undertaking that I really didn't think all the way through! It's going to be hard to get my work done and take care of Jeff, especially when Nick is working his other job, but I think I can handle it. I'll let you know for sure in a few weeks, fair enough? For now though, I'm glad I only need 43 hours...well 34 after this semester, and then I'll graduate!

Nick's New Job

Well tonight is Nick's first night working at Dominos'. I hope everything goes well for him. I hate him having to go to work after being gone all day, but we need the money so we can pay off debt and move out of Mom & Dad's, and this is the only solution we have. It's going to be hard, epsecially with me working and going to school along with taking care of Jeff, but I hope it all works out okay!

Back on Track

I have been horrible about blogging. I'm hoping that next week I can get back on track and keep up with everything that's going on!

Shopping!!!!

I love shopping, but I've had to cut back on things since having Jeff. Well yesterday when mom dropped Jeff off, we headed to Levis Commons to look for a few things. Turns out Steph was there too getting things for school, since she was extremely warm in long pants during the open house. I walked into the Loft and found my trouser jeans on clearance for $35.99....it was an awesome deal so I snagged them. I also found a cute green shirt, but figured I didn't need to spend that kind of money so I just bought the jeans, but man did it feel great to SHOP!

Good Luck Steph!

Well my little baby sister has her first day of school day...TEACHING!!!! She has worked so hard to be where she is today and she deserves the oppurtunity she's been given. I hope everything goes well for her today!

Best Weekend!

I know I have great weekends, but this seriously had to be one of the best ones I've had in a really long time. I don't understand how they get better each weekend but they really do! Let's see, where should I even begin????

Friday, I got up and left the office around 1:30. Mentally I was just done with this place and I'm so glad I did leave because I went to Anderson's got my good snakie foods for the weekend, went home, took a nice nap, and got ready to leave for the lake. Dad was late from work, and since Nick had an interview at 7, I had to wait to go up with them. I think we left around 630 and Jeff was a perfect angel in the car. Jaclyn & Neil wanted to watch cars, so Jeff was intreged by the movie. We got to the lake, unpacked, Jeff got a bath, thanks to Grandma, and I spent some time making our dinner.

Saturday I woke up at 830 since Jeff decided to keep us up for 2 hours in the middle of the night! The child just LOVES to sleep with us, what can I say? But really the morning was great, went running, guys ran errands, hung out in the water, Jeff played in the sand. It was perfect! Maloy's came up around 130 and we just sat around and talked all afternoon. When Jeff took his morning nap, Nick and I took the kids out in the boat to look around, and that was nice. I ended up taking a much needed nap and when I woke up, dinner was almost ready. We enjoyed a campfire and just sat around and chatted. It really was a wonderful day!

Sunday was a little chilly when we woke up! I had to put Jeff in a long sleeve shirt to go to church!!!! We took Jaclyn & Neil tubbing and Jaclyn and I thought it would be good if her and I went together! It was a blast, but I'm serisouly so sore this morning, hopefully it goes away soon though. Nick went too and he enjoyed every minute of it, he's such a kid at heart! We stayed at the lake until 5 and then we headed home. I love getting a full day in on Sundays, makes it worth it to go up for the weekend!

Lunch with Steph

Yesterday Steph & I went to Sloppie Joe's and had the much needed sister lunch that we had been waiting all summer to have. It was so nice! We had ordered our food, sat down outside, and all of a sudden we see Dad walking up...he had decided that he was going to have lunch there too. The 3 of us sat outside for a good 1/2 hour, just talking and laughing about who only knows what, but it was a great time had by all.

Dinner at Bar Louie!

We haven't been there in months...I forgot how much I missed that place, but last night we went and it was Yummo!!! $ burger nights are the best and a cheap way for us to eat out. We even got Jeff a hamburger and he ate some of it, but for a $ I can handle it. Hopefully they do another half off hook up soon so I can get another gift card to eat there.

Awesome Weekend!

Wow, haven't blogged in awhile, but how many times do people really want to hear about the weekend that I had? Especially when our weekends are pretty much the same every time! But I will write them down so I remember our weekend...

Let's see Thursday night we went and looked at a great apartment. I really like it, big, lots of room, and closet space so that was good. Jeff would be able to still play outside and there is a pool there, so lots of PERKS if you will. Did grocery shopping for the weekend and then we had dinner at Chipotle which was yummy as usual!

Friday of course we had to work, but after work the car was loaded and ready to go! We had an eventful trip over, especially when we saw a semi going east bound get all tipsy on the road, go off the road, and plow into the cornfield! I called 911 because we weren't sure what happened, but goodness, that woke me up that's for sure. When we finally arrived at the lake, we hurried and unpacked and then went to Logan's Landing for a yummy dinner.

For some reason at the lake Jeff likes to wake up in the middle of night, and since we are in the same room he can see us and will start to scream. So of course Friday night he woke up and I grabbed him and put him in bed with me. Nick snuck in took a picture of us sleeping...he thought it was hilarious that Jeff and I sleep alike. I have closer up shots, but figured this one was just fine! I will confess that I love sleeping with my little man, he's so snugly!

Saturday we woke up to some cooler weather at the lake! My goodness it was like a fall morning in sweatshirts, long pants, and socks! Of course that didn't stop Jeff from running straight for the sandbox. He loves spending his time in there. We really just hung out at the lake all day, enjoyed some sunshine and boats ride. It was a great day though!

Jeff was "helping" with the cups!

I LOVE this picture of him, I think it's one of my favorites.

Look at how big he's getting! He looks like a little man in this picture.

Sunday we got up early, cleaned the cottage and headed into Ft. Wayne for Grandpa's birthday party. It was so nice to be at T & J's early so we could enjoy the pool. Jeff loved it too!

18 Month Old Well Check

Well I just got back from Jeff’s 18 month well check, I can’t believe he’s 18 months old already. Time really is flying by a lot faster than I thought. I think it hit me when she said we don’t have to come back until he’s 2…holy cow, he’s going to be 2 in only 6 months!!!!!! Everything checked out well though, she said he is trying to be independent and that’s why he has his tantrums and WE SHOULD JUST LET HIM GO…are you kidding me? I just chuckled and thought to myself “If you think he’s going to get away with having this tantrums, he’s got another things coming.” She is surprised he’s not talking more, but I told her he yells more than enough to make up for not saying words. He’s a little peanut though…24lbs and about 32 inches tall (I want to do my own height at home, since the nurse didn’t do it well,) but he’s only in the 25%...he’s portioned very well she thought. Only had to get 1 shot and he took it just fine. Glad we don't have to go back until January, but I'm sure we'll be back there before that for a sick visit or two!

I can't believe he's 18 months old already!

Great, Great Weekend!

This was the best weekend by far that I've had in a really long time! It's amazing how much more enjoyable your time can be when you have a helpful spouse. I tell you what Nick is a completely changed father...for the better! He is helping with Jeff so much more and it's making things easier for me. Anyway though, back to the lake right?

So Friday night we arrived and had a wonderful dinner out on the deck. Jeff of course saw grandpa's boat, so we figured might as well take a nice quiet boat ride. Jeff loved it! Running from the front to back just trying to figure everything out.

Saturday was just a beautiful day at the lake. Jeff played in the sandbox or was in the water throughout the day. In the morning we went over to visit with Aunt Helen and Uncle John, it was nice to see them and see how big some of their grandkids have gotten...amazing what a couple of years will do! Uncle Tim & Aunt Janet, along with Aunt Chrissy & Uncle Matt came over for dinner. It was nice to sit and talk to all of them plus Jeff loves playing with Tommy and Michael.

Sunday was just another day hanging out and it was wonderful! I loved every second of it. The Alexander's came up to the lake to enjoy the sun & water. It was nice to see them and chat for a couple of hours. Jeff even made his first trip out to the buoys so that was a big deal!

It was another good weekend, what can I say. I love the lake and I think it will just keep getting better as he gets older.

Jeff enjoying playing in the sandbox with his toys.
Olin is there taking a nap too!

Gotta LOVE that cheesy grin of his...he's such a ham.

Enjoying some swinging time with Mommy & Jeff!
